Welcome to Telašćica Bay, located in the central part of the eastern coast of the Adriatic Sea, on the stunning island of Dugi Otok. This bay is surrounded by 13 islands and islets, including six islets within the bay itself, and was proclaimed a Nature Park in 1988 due to its extreme beauty, richness, and importance. Telašćica has been a protected area since 1980 because of its valuable flora and fauna, geological and geomorphological phenomena, versatile sea bottom life, and interesting archaeological heritage.
This area is characterized by three unique phenomena: Telašćica Bay, the safest, most beautiful, and largest natural port of the Adriatic, with 25 small beaches; the cliffs of Dugi Otok, known as the “Stene,” rising up to a height of 161 meters above the sea and reaching down to a depth of 90 meters; and the salt lake “Mir” with its medicinal properties. Among the islands, the most picturesque is Katina Island, and the most unusual is certainly Taljurić. The environment is covered in beautiful cultivated meadows, and the hills are covered in rich Mediterranean flora with more than 500 plant species and equally rich fauna. The underwater world is home to more than 300 plant and 300 animal species.
Our full-day excursion takes you on a route inside the park, visiting the cliffs and stopping for swimming and relaxation in the impeccable sea in Mir Bay. We provide a knowledgeable tourist guide, a breakfast featuring a sandwich, tea biscuits, and an aperitif, and a scrumptious lunch consisting of grilled fish or meat, potato lettuce, and green lettuce – with vegetarian options available upon request.
